The Eiger Express is a modern cable car system connecting the village of Grindelwald with the Eigergletscher station in the Bernese Oberland. Opened in December 2020, this tricable gondola lift serves as a crucial link for travelers heading to the Jungfraujoch, often called the "Top of Europe." The journey begins at the Grindelwald terminal, where visitors board spacious cabins for a swift ascent of about 15 minutes into the mountains.

During the ride, passengers are treated to panoramic views of the region’s dramatic landscape, including the lush green valleys below and the imposing Eiger North Face. The cabin design allows for unobstructed sightseeing, making the short transit time an experience in itself. Upon arrival at Eigergletscher, guests can transfer to the historic Jungfrau Railway. This narrow-gauge train then tunnels through the mountain to reach the Jungfraujoch saddle, offering access to the Ice Palace and other high-altitude attractions.

The Eiger Express significantly reduces travel time compared to older routes, providing a comfortable and efficient way to navigate the alpine terrain. It is an essential part of the infrastructure that allows visitors to experience the high Alps with ease. The station at Eigergletscher also provides access to hiking trails and ski areas, depending on the season. The combination of modern engineering and natural beauty makes the Eiger Express a memorable part of any trip to Grindelwald.
