Carasc Tibetan Bridge
270m Tibetan bridge 130m above Bellinzona valley
The Carasc Tibetan Bridge is a thrilling highlight for hikers and adventure seekers visiting the Bellinzona region. Spanning a dramatic valley between Sementina and Monte Carasso, this suspension bridge stretches 270 meters in length and rises 130 meters above the forested floor, offering breathtaking views of the rugged landscape below. Anchored at 696 meters above sea level, the bridge connects the historic hamlet of Curzútt to the “Via delle Vigne” hiking trail, making it a memorable stop on a day of exploration.
Constructed with sturdy larch wood and modern safety features, the Carasc Bridge is about one meter wide and designed to be accessible for families as well as experienced hikers. Crossing the bridge is an exhilarating experience, with the gentle sway underfoot and panoramic vistas of the valley and distant peaks.
Access to the bridge is via the Monte Carasso–Curzútt–Mornera cableway, which is easily reached from Bellinzona by public transport or car. From the cable car station, well-marked trails lead through chestnut woods and past stone-built villages to the bridge itself. The area is also served by a shuttle bus and features a small shop selling local crafts.
Whether you’re in search of adventure, stunning photo opportunities, or a unique way to experience the Ticino landscape, the Carasc Tibetan Bridge offers an unforgettable perspective above the valley.
