Enea Tree Museum

The Enea Tree Museum in Rapperswil-Jona offers a unique blend of botanical artistry and landscape design just a short distance from Lake Zurich. Opened in 2010 by Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea, the museum is set within a 75,000-square-meter park and showcases around 50 remarkable trees from Enea’s own collection. The surrounding park features an additional 100 trees and plants, and the entire site is home to over 3,000 exclusive trees and shrubs, making it a living archive of global arboreal diversity.

Visitors can stroll through carefully curated outdoor “rooms,” where mature trees are thoughtfully arranged to highlight their form, age, and character. Since 2013, contemporary sculptures by renowned artists have been integrated into the landscape, creating a dialogue between art and nature. The museum’s tranquil paths invite reflection, photography, and quiet appreciation of both the natural and the artistic.

Admission is CHF 15 for adults, with reduced rates for groups, students, and people with disabilities. An annual pass is available and supports tree-planting initiatives through the Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation Switzerland. Dogs on leashes are welcome throughout the grounds. The museum is open Monday to Saturday, with extended hours in spring and summer, but is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
