One day exploring Murten’s medieval walls and lake

Arrival in Murten
Arrive at Murten train station. The station is conveniently located just outside the old town walls. Purchase a ticket for the local shuttle bus if carrying heavy luggage, or begin walking towards the city center.
Walk the Medieval City Walls
Explore the 1.5 km long, well-preserved medieval city walls. This is the highlight of Murten. Walk along the ramparts for panoramic views of the old town and Lake Murten. Visit the Zytglocke (City Clock) tower if open.
St. Maurice's Church (St. Moritz)
