Tüfels Gorge

Tüfels Gorge (Tüfelsschlucht), located near the village of Hägendorf in Aargau, is a striking natural attraction that invites visitors to explore its dramatic landscape on foot. The gorge stretches for 2.2 kilometers along the Cholersbach stream, featuring a winding path that crosses 32 bridges and catwalks. As you walk, you encounter steep rock faces, mysterious grottoes and caves, waterfalls, and unique geological formations like slot holes carved by centuries of flowing water.

The route leads steadily uphill toward Allerheiligenberg Mountain, while the stream cascades down toward the village and eventually joins the River Dünnern at Kappel. The entire route can be completed in about two hours, either as a self-guided adventure or with a local guide.
